RF

RF: Abbreviation for a type of modality: Radio Fluoroscopy.

RG

RG: Abbreviation for a type of modality: Radiographic imaging (conventional film/screen).

RIS

RIS: Radiology Information System, which typically schedules and maintains patient demographic information.

RSNA

RSNA: Radiological Society of North America

Retired Data Element

Retired Data Element: A Data Element that is unsupported beginning with Version 3.0 of the DICOM standard. Implementations may continue to support Retired Data Elements for the purpose of backward compatibility with versions prior to V3.0, but this is not a requirement.

Root

Root: The Root identifies the specific Information model or database scheme that is used for a Query/Retrieve service. Examples are Patient Root, Study Root, etc.
