M/M: Usage specification for a specific service, meaning that both SCU and SCP shall support it.
MA: Abbreviation for a type of modality: Magnetic Resonance Angiography.
MAN: Metropolitan Area Network
MG: Abbreviation for a type of modality: Mammography.
MIP: Maximum Intensity Projection
MOD: Magneto Optical Disk, used as one of the physical exchange media options for the DICOM exchange standard.
MPI: Master Patient Index
MPPS: Modality Performed Procedure Step
MPR: Multi-planar Reformatting
MR: Magnetic Resonance Imaging system acquiring images of patients using a very strong magnetic field.
MRA: Magnetic Resonance Angiography
MRI: Magnetic Resonance Imaging
MS: Abbreviation for a type of modality: Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy.
MWL: Modality Work List
Message: A data unit of the message exchange protocol exchanged between two cooperating DICOM application entities. A message is composed of a command stream followed by an optional data stream.
Modality: Acquisition system.
A device that produces medical images.
