The option "Local mount" in the menu system/databases leads to the dialog that establishes the parameters for the database to be mounted. The first time a database is referenced, all parameters will have to be entered. When a moniker (or nick-name) is entered as well, MSM-Workstation will remember the parameters, so that the same database can later be referenced from the drop-down list in this dialog.
In the example below, the first database was selected from the drop-down list. The further parameters are displayed in the dialog window, and when the "Open" button is clicked, the database in question will be mounted.
Note: Immediately after the "Open" button is clicked,
the mounting activity will start. While this process is active,
the cursor will not change into an hour-glass.
Once the mounting activity has completed successfully, an
error-beep will sound. This error signal can be ignored.
When an error does occur, a window will pop up with an
appropriate error message.
If the "System Browser" window is open (by default this is the case), the newly mounted database will show up in the tree that is displayed in this window.
