What's in a name?

In 1982, during the annual meeting of MUG-Europe in Aarberg, Denham Pole made himself immortal by presenting two alternative names for MUMPS.

Of course, we never make fun of the name of a language, system or technique, be it LISP, OOPS, Snowball (pardon me: SNOBOL), YouNix, Ms. Dos or MUMPS, the alternative names that are listed on the following pages have been collected by us over the past decade.

Mentioning a name here does not mean that we think they are in good taste. Just so that you know you are not original if you come up with any of these...
