Kalah is a game in which two players move objects across a number of containers. A move is made by picking up the objects (beads, beans, marbles, etc.) in one of the containers on the side of the board where the player is sitting, and dropping them one by one in the neighboring containers to the right (counter-clockwise). The object of the game is to maximize the number of objects in the “home pit” (the container between the two rows on the right-hand side of the player). Objects end up in one’s “home pit” during any normal move or when the last object in a move would go into an empty container on the player’s side, in which case all objects from the container opposite the empty one are transferred to the player’s “home pit”.
