1 Scope, purpose, and application
1.1 Scope

Open MUMPS Interconnect defines protocols for remote execution of computer programs that conform to the M[UMPS] language standard (see 2), network access to output devices, and network access to M[UMPS] databases. The protocol provides all basic operations on the sparse tree-structured M[UMPS] database.
