$IOREFERENCE

M[UMPS] by Example

Approved for inclusion in a future M[UMPS] language standard.

The value of this variable identifies the current input/output device. The difference between $IO and $IOReference is that the value of $IOReference always contains a specification of the environment in which the device exists (if the value of $IO is non-empty).
