5.4.8 Get

(Operation type 20) This operation fetches the value of a global reference given in its global reference field <LS>.

The fields of the get response and their sequence shall be:

  1. Define: <SI> indicates whether the global variable has a value. 0 means no, and 1 means yes. All other values are reserved. This distinguishes an empty string value from undefined.
    NOTE – A global variable may have descendants without having a value.
  2. Global data: <LS> the value of the requested global variable. If the variable has no value, this field shall equal the empty string.
