Structured system variables are denoted by the prefix ^$ followed by one of a designated list of names, followed by a parenthesized list of exprs. These exprs will be called subscripts. Structured system variable names differing only in the use of corresponding upper and lower case letters are equivalent.
The formal definition of ssvn is a choice from among all of the individual ssvn definitions below:
